Annapolis to Dulles Airport: drive time, route and when to leave

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is about 60 miles from Annapolis, and the drive usually takes 60 to 90 minutes: about 75 in normal traffic, longer at weekday rush hours. The usual route is US-50 West to the Capital Beltway (I-495), then the Dulles corridor (VA-267) to the airport. Leave Annapolis about three and a half hours before a domestic flight and about four and a half hours before an international one.
