Why fly from Reagan National
Reagan National sits on the Potomac just across from downtown Washington. It is mostly a domestic airport: a federal perimeter rule keeps most nonstop flights to cities within about 1,250 miles, with a limited number of exceptions. That covers frequent flights to places like Chicago, Atlanta, Boston and Florida; long-haul and international trips usually leave from Dulles or BWI.
From Annapolis it is usually 45 to 70 minutes away, so it's farther than BWI (usually 25 to 35 minutes) and closer than Dulles (usually 60 to 90). For most people the flight decides it, and we drive to all three.
The drive and the traffic
The usual way is US-50 west toward the city, then DC-295 and the I-695 freeway along the Anacostia, I-395 across the 14th Street Bridge, and a short run down the George Washington Parkway to the terminals. When the city is jammed, your chauffeur can stay on the Beltway instead, cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and come up through Alexandria.
Weekday afternoons are the slow time, when I-395 and the Potomac bridges back up with commuters. For a flight that leaves in the late afternoon or early evening, plan on the long end of the range.

When to leave Annapolis
Airlines generally suggest arriving about two hours before a domestic flight. With 45 to 70 minutes of driving and a little margin, that means a pickup about three to three and a half hours before departure, or a bit more in a weekday rush.
Early-morning and late-night pickups are available. The rate can be different for early or late hours, and the booking form shows the price for your pickup time.
Getting picked up at Reagan National
At Reagan National we pick up at the curb only, so there is no inside meet here. Once you have your bags, walk out to the second curb outside baggage claim (the center curb) and call your chauffeur, who comes to you there.
We monitor your flight, and free waiting starts when it actually lands: 30 minutes for a domestic arrival. Keep your phone on and make sure the cell number on the booking is the passenger's, because that's the number your chauffeur will call.
Choosing a vehicle for Reagan National
For one to 3 travelers, a sedan is enough. Suitcases ride in the trunk, not the cabin, so a family with checked bags fits better in the SUV (up to 6 people and 5 bags), and a group of up to 10 in a Sprinter van.

Questions people ask
Can my chauffeur meet me inside at Reagan National?
No. At DCA we pick up at the curb only. After collecting your luggage, walk to the second curb outside baggage claim, the center curb, and call your chauffeur.
How long is the drive from Annapolis to Reagan National?
Usually 45 to 70 minutes for about 35 miles. Traffic in DC decides where you land in that range, and weekday afternoons are the slowest.
Is Reagan National or BWI better from Annapolis?
BWI is closer, usually 25 to 35 minutes, and offers inside or curbside pickup. Reagan National is usually 45 to 70 minutes and curbside only, but it may have the flight you want. We drive to both, and to Dulles: see Annapolis to BWI.
What if my flight to or from DCA is cancelled?
Let us know as soon as you can. We don't charge for a flight the airline cancels (we check with the airline), and your payment can be refunded or put toward the new flight. The rate is for that date and time, so it can change if the new pickup is very early or late.
