The drive from Annapolis to Dulles
Most trips leave Annapolis on US-50 west, pass Bowie and join the Capital Beltway just outside the city. From there the usual way is the Beltway's north side through Silver Spring and Bethesda, across the Potomac on the American Legion Bridge, and out VA-267, the Dulles corridor, to the terminal.
The slow spots are predictable: the Beltway around the American Legion Bridge on weekday mornings and afternoons, and US-50 east on the way home on weekday evenings and summer Fridays, when Bay Bridge beach traffic joins in. When the Beltway is stuck, your chauffeur can go through the city and out I-66, or around the south side over the Wilson Bridge, whichever is moving that day.
Depending on the route and the hour, the Virginia side can include toll lanes. Tolls are part of the trip, and our transfer rates are all-inclusive, with everything itemized.
When to leave Annapolis for a Dulles flight
Airlines generally ask you to be at the airport about two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international one. Add 60 to 90 minutes on the road and some margin for the Beltway, and a good pickup time in Annapolis is about three and a half to four hours before a domestic departure, or four and a half to five hours before an international one.
If the pickup falls in a weekday rush hour, add another 30 minutes. Dulles is the Washington area's main international airport, and many long-haul flights to Europe, Africa and the Middle East leave in the evening, which puts the drive right in the afternoon rush.

Flying home: Dulles to Annapolis
Put your airline and flight number on the booking. We monitor commercial flights, so if you land early or late, the pickup follows the flight rather than the time you first gave us. Please still tell us about a delay as soon as you know.
Free waiting starts when the flight actually lands: 30 minutes for a domestic arrival and 45 for an international one, which leaves time for passport control, customs and bags. After that, waiting time is charged. Make sure the cell number on the booking belongs to the passenger, because that is the number your chauffeur will call.
To meet at the curb, collect your bags, take the ramp slightly up to the Arrivals level (don't follow the Taxi/TNC signs) and call your chauffeur with the number of the door you're standing at. If you'd rather be met inside, ask for an inside pickup when you book.
Choosing a vehicle for Dulles
Suitcases ride in the trunk, not the cabin, so choose by bags as well as people. Two travelers with two checked bags fit the Hybrid Luxury Sedan. A family of four with luggage needs the SUV (up to 6 people and 5 bags), and a group of up to 10 rides together in a Sprinter van. The whole vehicle is booked at one rate, with no per-person charge.

Questions people ask
How long does it take to get from Annapolis to Dulles Airport?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes for the 60 to 65 miles, mostly on US-50, the Capital Beltway and VA-267. Weekday rush hours around the American Legion Bridge can add half an hour or more, so leave extra time for an afternoon departure.
Where do I meet my chauffeur at Dulles?
Dulles has both options: your chauffeur can meet you inside or at the curb. For the curb, collect your bags, take the ramp slightly up to the Arrivals level rather than following the Taxi/TNC signs, and call your chauffeur with your door number.
What happens if my flight into Dulles is delayed or cancelled?
We monitor commercial flights and move the pickup to your actual arrival, and your free waiting time counts from the real landing. If the airline cancels the flight, we don't charge you once we've confirmed it with the airline; your payment can be refunded or moved to your new flight. The rate can change if the new pickup is at an early or late hour.
Can I book a round trip to Dulles?
Yes. Choose a round trip on the booking form and enter your outbound pickup time and your return flight together. Your card is charged when you book.
How far ahead should I book a Dulles transfer?
At least 24 hours ahead if you can, and lower rates are available when you book 48 hours ahead. For Naval Academy weekends, the October boat shows and holiday travel, book as soon as your flights are set.
